1. Data Collection & Infrastructure

GOODSALOT® utilizes enterprise-grade partners to ensure your data is encrypted and secure:

Identity

Managed by Clerk. We never see or store your raw passwords.

Storage

Listings and trade history are secured in Neon (PostgreSQL).

Media

Images are hosted via UploadThing and delivered via global CDN.

2. Location Data

To help you find items nearby, we process your general location (City/Postal Code). We do not track your precise GPS coordinates or maintain a real-time history of your movements.

3. Retention & Deletion (The Hybrid Model)

We provide a transparent deletion process that balances your right to be forgotten with the community's need for safety:

  • User Initiated Deletion: You may request account closure at any time. Non-transactional data is purged immediately.
  • Media Purge: When a listing with no trade history is deleted, the images are permanently erased from our CDN.
  • Archival Requirement: Data associated with a completed or accepted trade is retained. This ensures that your trade partner maintains a record of the exchange for their own safety and legal protection.

4. International Rights

Our privacy standards are designed to meet or exceed global regulations (including GDPR and CCPA). Regardless of your location, you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request anonymization of your trade history upon account closure.
  • Object to any automated processing or analytics.
