Data & Deletion Policy

Last Updated: March 31, 2026

🛡️Global Privacy Standard

At GOODSALOT®, we adhere to a universal standard of data sovereignty. Whether you are trading locally or across borders, you maintain control over your personal information. We only retain data that is essential for legal compliance and the security of our global community.

1. Hybrid Deletion Framework

Our platform utilizes a dual-layered deletion system to balance individual privacy with marketplace integrity:

Full Purge

Items with no transaction history (zero offers made or received) are eligible for permanent erasure. This removes all database entries and associated media files from our global servers.

Secure Archival

Items involved in a trade or offer are transitioned to an "Archived" state. They are removed from all public discovery but retained as a private record for the parties involved in the exchange.

2. Transaction Transparency

To prevent fraud and satisfy international consumer protection standards, Records of Exchange are retained indefinitely.

Why we retain this: A completed trade is a mutual agreement. We preserve these records so that all users have permanent access to their transaction history, ensuring accountability and a reliable "paper trail" for every successful handshake.

3. Account Deletion Process

Closing your account initiates a comprehensive data removal sequence:

  • 1

    Identity Erasure

Personal identifiers (name, email, profile photos) are wiped via our authentication partner, Clerk.

  • 2

    Media Removal

Listing images for all non-archived items are permanently deleted from our global CDN.

  • 3

    Data Anonymization

Historical transaction metadata is anonymized to protect your identity while preserving the record for your trade partners.
